| Description:
Alawar Entertainment and MediaResearchGroup are proud to present Grand Master Chess v.2.0. Highly detailed 3D pieces make this game stand out from all other chess simulators. Reflections on the lacquered surface of the board, shadows and the use of alpha-channel for 2D and 3D display make the game stunningly realistic. A player can choose from several sets of pieces and boards with designs varying from traditional to futuristic. Those who are not very experienced in chess will benefit from the interactive hints: Grand Master Chess can tell you whether the current move is possible or not, it can automatically suggest moves (you can view several possible moves). Sleek interface, however, is not the only Grand Master Chess advantage. The game is also very rich functionally.
Flexible settings of the move search algorithm let any player choose a suitable difficulty level. Please note that the default skill level is pretty high and if you are not a seasoned chess player, you??d better regularly use hints. You can view the moves suggested by computer, accept the suggested moves, search for other variants or make your own moves. Grand Master Chess can make moves using the built-in logic algorithm or pick them from the archive of preloaded games. The use of preloaded games makes the computer very strong in the opening, but the more you play, the more difficult it is to find a suitable move in the archive and the computer has to rely on its own logics only. If you feel that the current difficulty level is too tough for you, you can disable the use of the game archive. The beginners can use the list of moves, the undo and redo functions to analyze the games and improve their skills. Less experienced users can use the preset difficulty levels to make it easier to choose the most suitable skill level.
Grand Master Chess features support for network game. Users can connect to existing servers or start their own ones. When you connect to a game server, specify the player address and name, connect and select a partner from the players who are currently online. The network game has a few options, including automatic selection of a partner, waiting for a request from other players or selecting an opponent manually. The program calculates ratings for all players based on their records (wins, losses, draws), so you can estimate the level of your prospective partner. |
